We started installing Vytex around 2010, after cycling through a few other brands that kept giving us callbacks — frames that bowed, seals that failed, corners that opened up after a couple Maryland winters. Vytex fixed that. They make their windows on robotic equipment in Pulaski, Virginia, which means the frames are consistent job to job. We rarely hear from a Vytex customer two years later saying something went wrong.
They cover the full range of styles — double-hung, casement, slider, bay, bow — with enough color and glass options to work on most homes we see in this area. Every window comes with a Lifetime Warranty on the frame and glass seal, and it transfers if you sell the house.
We install the full Vytex lineup. Here’s what we put in most often — and what we’d actually recommend for your home and budget.
This is the window that ends up in most of our jobs. Double-hung, multi-chamber frames, fusion-welded corners — solid without being overbuilt. Comes in White, Almond, Clay, and a few others. ENERGY STAR certified, handles Maryland’s winters and humid summers without complaint.
The step up from the Fortis. Better glass packages, and it comes in colors the Fortis doesn’t — True Black, Bronze, Clay, plus custom options. If you’re replacing all the windows at once and want them to still look sharp in 30 years, this is where most of our customers end up.
The Georgetown has a traditional profile that looks right on the colonials and foursquares we see throughout Montgomery and Howard County. Same multi-chamber frame construction — just a more classic exterior look.
Bay and bow installs take more time and cost more than standard replacements — but when they’re done right, they change the feel of a room. More light, more space, and they look noticeably different from the street. We’ve done a lot of these on colonials in Bethesda and Rockville.
Impact-rated for storm zones. We don’t install many of these in Maryland, but if you have a property near the Bay or in a coastal flood zone, this is the one to ask about. Built to take a hit and keep the seal.
Here’s what we find makes Vytex stand out from the other brands we’ve tried.
Low-E glass and argon-filled units keep heat out in summer, in during winter. Most configurations are ENERGY STAR certified for the Mid-Atlantic climate zone.
The corners are fusion-welded — not stapled or glued — which is why we rarely get callbacks on these. Multi-chamber vinyl frames hold up well in Maryland’s temperature swings.
White, Almond, Clay, True Black, Bronze, and more — plus grille patterns and hardware finishes. Enough options to work on most homes without a custom order.
Every Vytex window comes with a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer — frames, glass seals, hardware. It transfers if you sell the house.
The Signature Series is Vytex’s sliding patio door. We’ve installed a number of these — mostly for homeowners replacing older aluminum sliders or worn wood doors.
A solid replacement for an old aluminum slider. Stainless steel tandem rollers mean it glides quietly even after years of use. VyFoam insulation in the frame keeps it from being a weak spot in your home’s thermal envelope. Available in most standard colors plus True Black.
True Black is the one everyone asks about. It works particularly well against white or light walls — the contrast is clean without being fussy. Same VyFoam insulation and stainless tandem rollers as the standard Signature Series.
