Great News! The federal government has passed a tax rebate for qualifying energy star rated windows and patio doors. The rebate allows for up to $1500 credit on your Federal Taxes.¹

In order to quality for the rebate you MUST PURCHASE windows that have qualifying Energy Star ratings. NOT ALL ENERGY STAR RATED WINDOWS AND DOORS QUALIFY FOR THIS REBATE!

Qualifying windows and doors will have a U-factor less than or equal to 0.30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of less than or equal to 0.30. There are many Energy Star rated windows and doors that DO NOT meet this criteria. BEWARE of this and make sure you check the ratings of windows you are about to purchase. Many major brands of windows in the Maryland, DC and Virginia area are ineligible for the rebate.

How do you know if the windows you're getting are eligible for the tax credit? Ask for it in writing and check the labels on your new windows--you will need to save them and provide them as proof to receive your tax rebate!
